ICC World Test Championship – WTC Points Table: Pakistan take top spot after India’s innings defeat to England at Headingley Team – India registered their first defeat in the new World Test Championship cycle, as England clinched a largely convincing win over Virat Kohli and his side. Joe Root and Co bounced from their defeat in Lord’s with a clinical performance in the Headingley Test, winning by an innings and 76 runs. While the visitors did not lose any points from the game, it did have a knock-on effect on their position on the ICC World Test Championship standings for the 2021-23 cycle.

WTC Points Table: India’s innings defeat to England prove costly, Pakistan now No. 1 & India slips down to No. 3

ICC World Test Championship – WTC Points Table: Virat Kohli and Co. were atop the ICC World Test Championship standings before coming into the India vs England Headingley Test. India had amassed 14 points after the first two tests on their tour of England, ahead of Pakistan and West Indies, who were tie at 12 each following their 1-1 series earlier this month. Kohli and Co. failed to add to that tally, which saw England 12 points to their kitty, to equal India’s tally. However, while England and India both boast the highest tallies, it is Pakistan who leads the standings.

ICC World Test Championship – WTC Points Table: After a slew of postponements last year, the ICC adopted the percentage of points system, meaning Pakistan who have won 50% of their available points are joint top with West Indies, while India and England are ranked lower due to their inferior PCT. Here’s a look at the ICC World Test Championship Table after the India vs England Headingley Test:
