KL Rahul has been successfully leading his team LSG well in the IPL. He was also selected in the India squad to face Australia in the WTC Finals. Not only would he have slotted in the middle order in Shreyas Iyer’s absence, he was also the number one candidate to keep the wickets for India ahead of KS Bharat.

But all those plans now have been laid to rest. KL Rahul dashed to save a boundary in the wide cover region. In the process, not only could he save the boundary he went down clutching his right leg. With a grimacing face for the injury, KL Rahul was immediately subbed off the ground.

After KL Rahul was down injured, the physio was immediately rushed to the ground. The stretcher was brought in while a couple of team members helped KL Rahul get up to his feet. Unable to walk properly, KL was spotted limping towards the stretcher. The stadium was hushed as was the owner Sanjeev Goenka.
KL however, didn’t lie down on the stretcher. With the support of two physios he limped off the field. Adding more to the injury concern, Jaydev Unadkat too has been injured thereby raising concerns in the India squad. The veteran pacer has a shoulder injury. On the other hand, Umesh Yadav too has a hamstring injury.
