WTA Tour 2023: Iga Swiatek enjoyed a dream run in the 2022 season. The 21-year old dominated the WTA Tour completely with a 37-match win streak. In the process she won eight titles that include French Open and the US Open. The World No.1 is aiming to continue her form in the upcoming season. Swiatek has an unassailable lead in the WTA Rankings at the moment. She is at the top with 11,085 rating points. This is more than double the points of second-placed Ons Jabeur, who has 5055 points to her name. However Swiatek wants other players to push her and fight for the top spot in the upcoming season.
Speaking to the National, she said, “I think we all need somebody who is going to push ourselves to the limit.For sure rivalry is welcome, I can totally take a lot from that. So I think it’s great that we have so many people we can compete against.”
Iga Swiatek can expect competition from Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur, France’s Caroline Garcia, who is currently World No.4 and also from 18-year old Coco Gauff, who made it to the French Open final in 2022.

So for sure I need to approach next year a little bit differently.
“My main goal is to continue what I’ve been doing last year. I just want to keep being consistent. But the specific goals I think they’re going to come when I’m going to be closer to a tournament,” she added.
Swiatek recently featured in the World Tennis League. She guided her team Kites to a runners up finish in the event. She will next be seen in action in the United Cup that kickstart on 29th December.
