WPL 2024 Auction: Teams ignore Deandra Dottin after fitness certificate controversy

Dottin was picked up for Rs 60 lakh by the Gujarat Giants, but a controversy saw them drop her for Kim Garth.

T20 and West Indies legend Deandra Dottin has gone unsold at the WPL 2024 auction. The star all-rounder had set her base price at 50 lakh rupees, but to everyone’s shock, she had found herself without suitors. All five franchises shunned the 32-year-old, who was involved in a controversy in the inaugural edition of the WPL.

Dottin was picked by the Gujarat Giants last season; however, he did not play for them due to a fitness issue. The Giants had claimed that the right-handed all-rounder had failed to get medical clearance, whereas the Windies cricketer denied the claim.
