Here’s a look at all the players bought by each of the franchises in the WPL 2023 auction.

Gujarat franchise – Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd- Gujarat Giants

Gujarat Giants biggest buy of the evening was Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner who was bagged for Rs 3.20 Crore. Another Australian wicket-keeper batter Beth Mooney is the second highest buy for Gujarat at a price of Rs 2 Crore. England batter Sophia Dunkley was a steal for Gujarat at Rs 60 Lakh. In other buys, Annabel Sutherland from Australia was bought at Rs 70 Lakh to go with West Indies superstar Deandra Dottin for Rs 60 Lakh. Amongst the Indian buys, Gujarat went for young Harleen Deol for Rs 40 Lakh and Sushma Verma for Rs 60 Lakh.

Mumbai Franchise- Indiawin Sports Pvt Ltd – Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians has the Indian women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur in their corner. She was bought for Rs 1.80 crore by MI. However, the biggest buy for the franchise was England all-rounder Natalie Sciver who was bagged for Rs 3.20 Crore. The franchise also spent big bucks on Indian players like Pooja Vastrakar for Rs 1.90 Crore and Yashika Bhatia for Rs 1.50 Crore. MI also focused on Indian talent and bagged Priyanka Bala, Sonam Yadav and Neelam Bisht to their squad as well.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd

Royal Challengers Bangalore has bought Indian women’s team opener Smriti Mandhana for Rs 3.40 Crore. She remains the highest bid in the WPL 2023 but the Red Army also bought some big names like Ashleigh Gardner for Rs 1.80 Crore, Elysse Perry for Rs 1.70 Crore and Heather Knight for Rs 40 Lakh. RCB also spent big bucks on Indian players like Richa Ghosh who was bought for Rs 1.90 Crore, and Renuka Singh for Rs 1.50 Crore. In all, the franchise bought 18 players and also made some very interesting choices.

India’s U19 T20 World Cup skipper Shafali Verma will represent Delhi Capitals in WPL 2023. She was bought for Rs 2 Crore by the franchise. However, Shafali’s teammate Jemimah Rodrigues is the most expensive buy for the franchise at Rs 2.20 Crore. Some key buys for Delhi include South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp at Rs 1.50 Crore, Australia’s Meg Lanning at Rs 1.10 Crore. Delhi’s Indian buys include Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav at Rs 60 Lakh and Rs 40 Lakh.

UP Warriorz- Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd

UP Warriorz was slow to begin with at the auction, but bagged some key players in their dugout. The biggest fish for them was Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma bagged at Rs 2.60 Crore. England spinner Sophie Ecclestone was their second biggest buy at Rs 1.80 Crore. Australia’s Tahila McGrath and South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail came in at Rs 1.40 Crore and Rs 1 Crore respectively. To many people’s surprise, Australia’s Alyssa Healy was bagged for Rs 70 Lakh. UP also banked on a lot of Indian players as well. They bought Anjali Sarvani, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shweta Sehrawat, Parshavi Chopra and S Yashasri.
