Taking to social media, the Gujarat Giants released a statement, “Deandra is a world-class player and a wonderful signing for the franchise. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain a medical clearance before the defined deadline for this season, such clearances are a requirement of all players participating in the WPL.
“We look forward to seeing her return to the field soon. Subject to the clearance of her medical report, she will be part of the Gujarat Giants squad in the upcoming seasons,” concluded the statement.

Gujarat Giants explained the situation quite clearly. The team went on to say that Deandra is world-class player and a key signing for the Giants. However, as per the mandated rules, the team was unable to get a medical clearance before the stipulated deadline. And there the player has to sit out. But the team is confident, that once she passes her medical, she will be a part of the squad in the upcoming seasons.

“Ace West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin is recovering from a medical situation and has been replaced by Australian pace bowler Kim Garth. The Adani Gujarat Giants wish Deandra a speedy recovery, and welcome the talented Kim Garth,” the Gujarat Giants said in a statement.
However, after the announcements, Deandra Dottin created a storm suggesting that she was perfectly fine and fit. When messages started pouring in, the West Indian star wrote, ‘Get well soon from what?’
