ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Greg Barclay, the chairman of the International Cricket Council, and CEO Geoff Allardice will travel to Pakistan soon. The duo will meet with Najam Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), at the board’s Lahore offices to talk about the concerns surrounding their national team’s participation in the ODI World Cup in India, which begins on October 5.
Along with Sethi, the ICC top brass will also meet with PCB COO Barrister Salman Naseer and other senior board members.
As of right now, Sethi has upheld PCB’s position that they will also demand that their games be played in Bangladesh if India doesn’t travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.

A game between India and Pakistan in Dhaka would be a terrible advertisement for the BCCI as well as the international organisation, thus Barclay and Allardice would like to have a clearer picture and resolve the situation.
According to the PTI, Shah has received communication from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and even Nepal stating that they have no objections to playing a few games in Pakistan while the remainder of the Asia Cup 2023 should take place in Sri Lanka in September.
The hybrid strategy proposed by its Pakistani counterparts for the upcoming Asia Cup will not be accepted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Notably, no one has formally achieved a compromise on this issue despite the gathering of office-bearers from the three members of the continental organisation, Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Although Allardice has visited Lahore frequently since becoming the ICC’s director, Barclay will be visiting Pakistan for the first time.
Since ICC President Ray Mali’s trip there in 2008, Barclay will be the first ICC Chairman to visit Pakistan.
Additionally, this will be the first occasion that the top two ICC officials will visit the PCB headquarters since October 2004.
