Women’s 100 m FINAL – Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce WINS GOLD: After the US 1-2-3 in the men’s 100m and shot put, Jamaica has just secured all three medals in the women’s 100m, led by sprint superstar Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce.
The 35-year-old stormed to a championship record of 10.67 (the third time she has recorded that mark this year, and in three different continents) to win her fifth world 100m title. Only pole vault legend Sergey Bubka has won more individual world titles in a single discipline.
She was followed home by Shericka Jackson, who clocked a PB of 10.73, and Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah (10.81). In fourth, Dina Asher-Smith equalled the national record of 10.83 she set when taking silver in Doha three years ago.

Men’s 110 M Hurdles: Holloway holds on to gold: Grant Holloway retained his world 110m hurdles title. Holloway clocked 13.03 to lead a US 1-2 from Trey Cunningham (13.08).
But the host nation was denied a potential medal sweep after world leader Devon Allen false-started. And this came after Olympic champion Hansle Parchment was a late non-starter, having picked up an injury while warming up for the final.
Spain’s Asier Martinez made the most of those absences to claim a surprise bronze medal in 13.17.
SHOT PUT GOLD: Ryan Crouser won GOLD with a championship record of 22.94m. Joe Kovacs settled down for a SILVER
Women 100 M Semis START: Shericka Jackson WINS Heat 1 (10.84) / Dina Asher-Smith also Qualifies with 10.89.

Joshua Cheptegei wins 10,000 M Gold: Cheptegei became only the fourth man to win back to back 10,000m world titles. Earlier his fellow Ethiopians Haile Gebrselassie and Kenenisa Bekele and Britain’s Mo Farah have won back to back World Championship GOLD.
“I knew that if I could get into the last fight, I could control it and I could speed it up,” said Cheptegei, who won the world U20 title back at Hayward Field eight years ago. “It was very emotional for me to come back to the USA where I started my international career in 2014. Now, I want to continue my dominance in long distance running and I hope I will manage it.”

Women Hammer: Brooke Andersen gave the U.S. its second straight World Athletics Championships gold medal in the hammer. And it added another layer as Janee’ Kassanavoid finished third at WCH Oregon22 at the reimagined Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.
The United States entered the first World Athletics Championships on U.S. soil with the world leader in all four women’s throwing disciplines.
On Saturday, Chase Ealey became the first American woman to win a gold medal in the shot put at an outdoor World Athletics Championships. On Sunday, the U.S. won two medals in a women’s throwing event for the first time at an outdoor World Athletics Championships.
“I think all of us are just coming into fruition,” said Andersen, who entered WCH Oregon22 as the world leader at 79.02m. “We’ve all put in a lot of hard work over the years, and I think it’s now starting to show.”
