With Bismah Maroof poised to lead the Amazons side, it has already been revealed that Danni Wyatt, Lauren Winfield-Hill, and Laura Wolvaardt will participate as international players in the matches. The Super Women team, which also includes Chamari Athapaththu and Lea Tahuhu, will be led by Nida Dar.

The games were promoted as the beginning of the Pakistan Women’s League, which is expected to start play in September. The League would be the latest in the extension of franchise competitions into women’s cricket, and it would be the equal of the men’s PSL for women.

The PCB said, in a press release, that it will use the T20 match on Wednesday (March 8) to celebrate Women’s Day as “part of its social corporate responsibility”.

“The second exhibition match on Friday will be played to create awareness about breast cancer in partnership with Pink Ribbon Pakistan,” the statement read.

“The third and final exhibition match on Saturday will be played to highlight women empowerment through education in collaboration with Circle Women.”
