The Indian board has requested to all cricketers — capped and uncapped — to register online for the WIPL Auction.
Base Price and Auction Rules
- The starting point for bidding will be among three “reverse pricing” categories (INR 50 lakh, INR 40 lakh, and INR 30 lakh) among the capped players.
- The hammer price at the conclusion of the bidding process will indicate the player’s agreed-upon rate for the contest.
- For uncapped players, the base fee comes in two varieties: INR 20 lakh and INR 10 lakh.
- The “Auction Register” will then be edited by the five yet-to-be-established franchises in accordance with the IPL’s present procedure to produce a “Auction List,” which will then be put up for bids.
- Those who don’t get chosen at the auction but are in the “Registered Available Player Pool” will have another opportunity to be chosen as replacement player (s).
WIPL Teams and Media Rights
Five Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises are keen to acquire WIPL 2023 teams. Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, and Delhi Capitals have all expressed interest in funding a WIPL team.
The media rights auction for the competition has already been postponed by four days; it will now take place on January 16. The IPL’s regulatory board has also declared that the ITT has been published and that anyone interested in bidding has until January 21 to do so.
In the first week of March, a double round-robin competition will likely kick off the widely anticipated first season.
