Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz

In a battle between two NextGenATP prodigies, it was Jannik Sinner who found his groove on the grass on Sunday afternoon at Wimbledon. The Italian produced a high-quality all-around performance to secure a 6-1, 6-4, 6-7(8), 6-3 fourth-round win against Carlos Alcaraz at the grass-court major.

Cameron Norrie vs Tommy Paul

Cameron Norrie broke new ground Sunday at Wimbledon, where he overcame American Tommy Paul 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals at a Grand Slam for the first time.

In an accomplished display on Court No. 1, the Briton outlasted Paul as he demonstrated great energy to cover the court, while he flattened out his backhand to turn the table in points and advance after two hours and 21 minutes.

David Goffin vs Frances Tiafoe

David Goffin dashed Frances Tiafoe’s Grand Slam hopes for the second consecutive major on Sunday at Wimbledon, where the Belgian held his nerve to clinch a thrilling five-set fourth-round victory on the London grass.

The former World No. 7 rallied in the final two sets to seal a 7-6(3), 5-7, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 win against the 23rd-seeded American on No. 2 Court. Goffin also prevailed in the pair’s second-round meeting on the clay at Roland Garros just five-and-a-half weeks ago.

Women’s Singles

Maria Bouzkova vs Caroline Garcia

Maria Bouzkova is through to a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the first time in her career after beating Caroline Garcia at Wimbledon, 7-5, 6-2. The 2014 US Open junior champion hadn’t been past the second round of a Grand Slam in 13 prior tries entering Wimbledon, but she’s now won eight straight sets since losing the opener to No.7 seed Danielle Collins in Round 1.

Bouzkova’s win over World No.56 Garcia is her third win this week against players ranked ahead of her; in addition to Collins, the World No.66 also upset No.28 seed and former quarterfinalist Alison Riske-Amritraj in Round 3.

Tatjana Maria vs Jelena Ostapenko

Tatjana Maria’s trailblazing run at Wimbledon continued in thrilling fashion as the No.103-ranked mother-of-two saved two match points en route to ousting No.12 seed Jelena Ostapenko 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 to reach her first Grand Slam quarterfinal.

Maria trailed 4-1 in the second set and 2-0 in the third before pulling off a 2-hour, 8-minute comeback. The 34-year-old had never reached the second week of a major before this week, but has scored her career-best result at this level less than a year after returning from her second maternity leave.

Jule Niemeier vs Heather Watson

In just her second Grand Slam main draw, the 22-year-old German Jule Niemeier in also through to her first major quarterfinal. To get there, Niemeier ended the hopes of the last British player remaining in the draw, Heather Watson, in a 6-2, 6-4 win.
