Wimbledon 2022: Top seed Novak Djokovic faces stern title defence after tumultuous season, Wimbledon could be last chance for Grand Slam title in 2022 – Check outNovak Djokovic
Despite not having had a great year so far, Djokovic cannot be ruled out of contention for the title as he is the top seed and the defending champion here. Most notably, he is the champion here for the last three editions and is vying for a fourth straight title.
After being disqualified from the Australian Open earlier this year, he lost in the Quarterfinal at the French Open to rival Rafael Nadal and enters the Wimbledon with an aim of winning his maiden Grand Slam title this year. Having also lost his World No.1 ranking, he is still the top seed and is placed in a favourable draw.
This might as well be his last shot for a Grand Slam title in 2022 as his participation in the US Open lingers in doubt as he is still unvaccinated. The top seed will begin his campaign against Kwon Soon-woo in the first round.

By winning the Australian Open and French Open titles this year, Nadal has already raced ahead of his arch-rivals Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer, by winning 23 Grand Slam titles and the 36-year old veteran is in a prime form to win yet another major as he enters Wimbledon as one of the favourites.
Nadal last won the Wimbledon title in 2010 and looks determined to lift the title at the Grass court major after more than a decade. Despite battling with injuries to his foot and having won the year’s first two Grand Slam titles, he is now aiming for a calendar Grand Slam this year.
He will begin his Wimbledon campaign by facing Francisco Cerundolo in the first round. He is however placed in a tough draw and will have to surpass the challenges from the likes of Marin Cilic, Felix Auger Aliassime and Stefanos Tsitsipas before a possible summit clash against Novak Djokovic.

For the first-time in his career, Casper Ruud enters a Grand Slam tournament as the third seed. Casper Ruud enjoyed a terrific 2022 so far having won the Argentina Open and Geneva Open. He also reached the finals at Miami Open. At the French Open this year he played his maiden Grand Slam final and though he faced defeat against Rafael Nadal, his performances helped his achieve a career-high ranking of World No.5.
Despite grass not being his favourite surface, Ruud enters the Wimbledon as one of the favourites. He faces Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the first round.
