India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya missed the IND vs NZ World Cup clash after sustaining an ankle injury during India’s previous clash with Bangladesh. Team India didn’t miss Hardik much as they registered their 5th consecutive win on Sunday. Howeverm the side will be desperate to get their star player back for IND vs ENG clash on October 29 in Lucknow.
But will Hardik Pandya recover before the big clash? A BCCI official now has given a big update on all-rounder’s availability.
Notably, the 30-year-old is currently undergoing treatment for ankle injury at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The BCCI has stated that there are no plans to announce a replacement as the all-rounder is expected to be fit for the England game.
“It is only a sprain and nothing serious. He should be available for selection in the Lucknow match”, the BCCI official confirmed.
Pandya twisted his ankle while bowling against Bangladesh in Pune last week. Meanwhile, wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan, who was stung by a bee before the New Zealand game, has also recovered.
