WI vs PAK: Mohammad Wasim displays great sportsmanship spirit, checks on Lendl Simmons after hitting him on the head in first T20I – Pakistan pacer Mohammad Wasim, who made his T20I debut in the first game against Pakistan in the ongoing five-match T20I series, showed great sportsmanship by paying a visit to West Indies batter Lendl Simmons after hitting him on the head in the first game. Lendl Simmons did not participate in the rest of the match after getting hit on the head and was ruled out of the 2nd T20I as well.

In the second over of the innings, Simmons was struck on the neck with a brutal bouncer by Mohammad Wasim. Pakistani bowler tried to bowl a short ball on the middle and off which came in at a high speed. Simmons tried to pull the ball but completely missed it and was hit on the right side of his neck. After the injury, Simmon walked off and retired hurt on 9.

Pakistan Cricket Board’s official Twitter handle posted a video where Simmons and Wasim can be seen interacting with each other. Wasim looked a bit nervous in the video while Simmons can be seen asking most of the questions. 

“Mohammad Wasim 🤝 Jnr Lendl Simmons. Wasim hit him on the head in the first over of his T20I career,” wrote in the caption of the photo.

Meanwhile, the first T20I between Pakistan and West Indies were washed out after it was reduced to nine overs per side. After the West Indies’ batting rain played the spoilsport and match was abandoned.
