The England ODI side is going through a really rough patch in the last couple of months. First, they failed to go beyond the group stages of the ICC World Cup 2023, and now, on Saturday, they lost the series against West Indies after 24 years. In the three-match ODI series, the hosts won 2-1, after a gap of more than two decades.
While this is concerning beyond words for the English cricket team, there might just be a silver lining in their loss. Before the match, England pacer Jofra Archer, who has been out of the side due to a long elbow injury, bowled to batsman Harry Brooks in the nets. It is important to note that Archer last played for England in May 2023.
But the way he bowled, it just gives an indication, that he could be back in the side soon, and strengthen the team that is desperately waiting for him.

Jofra Archer & Tryst With Injuries
Back in IPL 2023, Archer had suffered a recurrence of an elbow stress fracture, due to which he missed the World Cup and now the West Indies vs England series. Then back in September, during England’s series against New Zealand, Archer bowled in the nets at The Oval but wasn’t picked for the team. It was reported that he experienced pain in his elbow after the session, and thereafter was not picked in the team for West Indies.
