WI vs AUS 2nd T20: West Indies beat Australia: Hetmyer, Walsh help West Indies beat Australia by 56 runs and take 2-0 lead in T20 series- Shimron Hetmyer’s 50 and fine bowling from Hayden Walsh helped West Indies secure a comprehensive 56-run victory over Aaron Finch’s Australia and 2-0 lead in the T20 series.

Put into bat, West Indies scored 196 with Shimron Hetmyer and Dwayne Bravo stitching together a 103-run partnership. While Hetmyer scored 61, Bravo was unbeaten on 47. There was also some fantastic power-hitting from Andre Russell at the end as he smashed 8-ball 24 to help the hosts set a tough 197-run target.

Shimron Hetmyer was happy that his efforts led West Indies to win. “It was one of my best innings. I was hitting quite well, it quite worked out. My role is to bat as deep as possible. I didn’t do anything different, just did the same thing like last game, the partnerships were important. I was looking to bat deep and give a the gutsy chance to bat at the other end. I’m trying to bat well and finish off the innings as well. I have never batted with him before, nice to bat with him, he was just telling me to keep going and do what I did best and allowed me to trust myself,” Shimron Hetmyer said.

WI vs AUS 2nd T20: West Indies beat Australia: Aaron Finch’s Australia were in trouble early as they lost Matthew Wade on duck in the 1st over. Soon, Aaron Finch departed as well. This was the second time since 2010 that Australia have been bowled out for the second consecutive time in the T20Is. Like the 1st T20, Australia again lost far too many wickets quickly. If they lost seven wickets for 38 runs yesterday, on Sunday they lost 7 wickets for 39 runs. From 101/3, they were bowled out for 140. However, with a day’s break, Aaron Finch said the team will look to come back.

WI vs AUS 2nd T20: West Indies beat Australia:

“The wicket didn’t change throughout, it played pretty well. When your two openers get out early, it puts a lot of pressure on the middle order. The 100-plus partnership between Hetmyer and Bravo proved to be the difference. It’s always tough to bowl to a left-right combination, especially with the wind blowing like that. We will look to come back well. Need to win 3 more games to win the series, we will keep working hard,” Aaron Finch said after the match.
