Twitch’s star streamer Pokimane was banned on the platform for 48 hours for reacting to popular animation series Avatar:The Last Airbender live on stream. Twitch’s TV show has been seen gathering pace by the end of 2021, with popular streamer xQc leading the meta. Other well known streamers such as HasanAbi, Disguised Toast were also watching TV shows and broadcasting them live. Cooking shows like MasterChef and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmare were quite popular among streamers. Soon HasanAbi also faced DMCA strike owing to the streaming of MasterChef on Twitch. With two of the biggest Twitch stars facing backlash back to back, it appears this meta might come crashing down.

Pokimane fell prey to DMCA claims while streaming copyrighted material for the first time on her channel. She took to Twitter to reveal her suspension and later explained it was “totally fair” to take action against her. She elaborated it was actually something she was expecting to happen sooner rather than later.

The star wrote on Twitter on January 9, “In my opinion, it was inevitable publishers would take action, on me or someone else, during this Twitch react meta.” Fans were rather surprised at her calm handling of the situation. “I will chat more about this situation on Monday,” the Moroccan-Canadian star assured her fans.

Pokimane received an unban on 10 January after exactly 2 days 8 minutes and 34 seconds. The star promised to elaborate regarding the TV meta and the varying opinions on her next stream. Well, for now, Poki’s fans are eagerly waiting for her to return to the purple platform.
