Why Did Nate Diaz Request For a 10-Rounds Boxing Fight Against Jake Paul?
Diaz made a suggestion that Paul was the target of the talks over the fight’s round count during a recent interview with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi.
Diaz has a reputation for picking up the tempo as the fight progresses, adding intrigue to a 10-round boxing match. Given his combat background against high talent, it might work to his benefit.
Prior to their fight, Diaz and Paul have stayed largely amicable, but as the starting bell approaches, tensions are predicted to rise.
Longtime MMA champion Diaz has never had a professional boxing title. After defeating Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in September of last year, the 38-year-old exited the organisation, potentially bringing an end to an illustrious career in which Diaz earned a reputation for his unyielding determination.
Paul, who will be making his professional boxing debut, is coming off of his first setback, a split-decision loss against Tommy Fury. Paul had previously fought against fellow social media stars, professional athletes, and former MMA fighters, but this was his first matchup with a professional boxer.
