Virat Kohli lambasts claim about his Social Media earnings

Virat Kohli is gearing for Asia Cup 2023 after being rested for T20 series against West Indies

Virat Kohli: Everyone were going gaga over Virat Kohli yesterday after a report came that he is the highest Asian player to charge 11.45 Crores per Instagram post. However, the legendary batter has broken his silence on the matter and said that the reports are not true. Hopper HQ stat placed Kohli in the third position, just behind Cristino Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. It also stated the former India captain is the only Indian in the top 25 to charge hefty fees on Social media.

Taking it to Twitter Kohli said, “While I am grateful and indebted to all that I have received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true.”

This is not the first time that reports of Kohli minting money on social media are doing rounds. Previously, also the right-hand batter’s name is mentioned among the top athletes who have earned more on Instagram.

Even though Kohli has scored 76 international centuries, the expectations never stops. If he fails in one game also then critics and fans start questioning his attitude. However, with 15 years plus of playing at the top level, the former India captain said he is not bothered about outside noise, as he has learned to be resilient in all circumstances.

“But what has truly defined me as a person is my ability to stay resilient and keep pushing forward, no matter how difficult the circumstances,” Kohli told Indian Express. He understands the “importance of self-belief and staying true to myself”.

“This self-belief helps me stay positive and focused on improving my game… I draw inspiration from my past successes and learnings. Reflecting on the moments when I performed at my best and analysing the areas where I can improve from losses, helps me grow as a player. Every setback becomes an opportunity for me to come back stronger,” he added.

After a small break, Kohli will be back in action for Asia Cup. India will kick off the Continental Cup by playing against Pakistan on August 30.
