Virat Kohli confirms he will join Team India for Asia Cup 2023 preps on Aug 23

The Indian batter's humility was in display again as his heart-warming gesture wins over netizens

Virat Kohli may be a superstar in the true sense of the word but the prolific batter of the Indian Cricket Team does not allow his stardom to get in the way of humility.

The humble nature of Kohli was on display again at the Mumbai airport recently when he apprised a fan, who was asking for a selfie, of his future schedule.

The batter confirmed he will be joining the Indian team in Bangalore on August 23 as part of Asia Cup 2023 preparations.

What happened at Mumbai Airport?

In a viral video on social media, Kohli is seen walking towards his car at the Mumbai Airport when a fan approaches him for a selfie.

In reply to the request, Virat is seen saying he’ll leave for the national camp in Bangalore on 23rd August and promised a selfie to the fan then.

In an era where sportspersons shy away from sharing their plans, Virat Kohli’s gesture caught the internet by surprise, with netizens marvelling at the simplicity of the Indian batter.

Humble nature of Virat Kohli

Despite his aggressive nature on the field, Kohli is calm, composed and compassionate off the field.

His modesty has been on display on several occasions in the past, be it clicking a selfie with a die-hard fan who came all the way to see him from Pakistan’s Lahore during Asia Cup 2022 or serving guests food at his home without the help of servants.

The former Indian captain’s effort to try and give back to the less fortunate of society through the Virat Kohli Foundation is another prime example of Kohli’s empathetic nature.

The latest episode with the fan at the Mumbai airport may have given the netizens a cause to love the prolific batter even more, and we are not complaining!
