Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas recently published a photo of himself with football legend Lionel Messi and tennis legend Novak Djokovic. This follows Inter Miami’s quarterfinal victory over FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup 2023.
Mas titled his X post, “What a night.” The caption was completed by two goat emojis signifying the two greatest athletes.
Messi has yet to lose a match since moving to the United States from PSG earlier this year. He was instrumental in Inter Miami’s first-ever Leagues Cup victory. After defeating FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup on Wednesday night, the Argentine great has just led the Herons to another final. He assisted Leo Campana twice to force extra time in a game they eventually won 5-4 on penalties.
Djokovic has won his 39th ATP Masters 1000 championship after defeating World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in the Cincinnati Open final. He has surpassed Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer by winning a record 23rd Grand Slam championship in this year’s French Open.
He now appears in a photo alongside Argentina’s football legend. Mas came to Twitter to share a photo of the group.
This is not the first time the two athletes have been spotted together. He was among those there when Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 championship in June. Djokovic was in the city for the French Open. On that occasion, he took advantage of the opportunity to meet with seven-time Ballon d’Or winner and Brazil international Neymar.
Lionel Messi will play against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening. This will be his first MLS appearance.
