According to the Delhi Police’s chargesheet, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) assistant secretary Vinod Tomar “intentionally assisted” and “facilitated” WFI president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment by six prominent women wrestlers.
Two of the six complaints list Vinod Tomar as a co-accused.
According to the chargesheet, Tomar “intentionally” and “purposefully” prevented the husband in one case and the coach in the other from accompanying the complainants when they went to meet Singh on three separate occasions at the WFI chief’s office/residence on Ashoka Road in the capital.
Tomar, who has been involved with the WFI for more than 20 years, has been accused of violating IPC Sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 109 (abetment), 354, and 354 A (outraging a woman’s modesty).
The chargesheet, which The Indian Express has obtained, states that Tomar “denied in totality” the accusations made against him when questioned.

What did WFI Asst. Secretary Vinod Tomar do?
The two claimed events happened in 2017. Tomar allegedly requested that the complainant’s spouse wait outside the WFI office the first time. The second time, allegedly her husband was forced to wait close to Tomar’s chamber at the WFI office.
The chargesheet claims that Tomar also called the wrestler to his home, where “he humiliated and mentally harassed her on the basis of her failure to secure a position at the Olympics.”
When the wrestler was instructed to visit Singh in his office in a similar occurrence in 2022, Tomar allegedly ordered the coach of another complainant to wait outside.
“The complainant, in her statement under Section 164, has expressly said that Vinod Tomar walked inside the accused’s chamber, Brij Bhushan, and then requested that the victim go inside the chamber by herself. He further stated that he purposely prevented the coach from entering and closed the door. The accused, Brij Bhushan, made inappropriate advances while the victim was alone in his room, asking for sexual favours. Thus, in a deliberate manner, Vinod Tomar assisted or helped the conduct of the aforementioned crime,” according to the chargesheet.
