The World No. 1 started his campaign with a tough three-set [7-6(5), 6-4, 7-6(2)] win over Australian duo James Duckworth and Marc Polmans.

After a difficult first round, Bopanna and Edben dispatched John Millman and Edward Winter in straight sets (6-2, 6-4) to advance to the third round.
3rd Round
Facing 14th seeds Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektić, Bopanna and Edben put on a great display to get a straight sets [7-6(8), 7-6(4)] win to advance to the quarterfinal.
Quarter-final
In the quarters, they faced 8h seeds Máximo González and Andrés Molteni. Their clinical performance saw them set the semis in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(5).
Semi-final
In their toughest test so far, the 2nd seed faced singles stars Zhang Zhizhen and Tomas Machac. The No. 1 clamied a tough three-set win in the super tiebreaker, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(7).
Final
Bopanna will face unseeded Italian duo Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in the Final to clinch his first-ever Australian Open title.
