WATCH Team India reaches Dominica in ‘jet black’ style ahead of 1st Test

The primary goals of the Barbados camp, in addition to addressing any weaknesses in the team's defence, were to evaluate the young players and give Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and others some practise.

Barbados’ 5-day camp is now over. To commence final preparations for the IND vs WI 1st Test at Windsor Park beginning July 12, the India Cricket Team has left for Dominica. Men in Blue stars including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan & others were all spotted at the airport donning their stylish jet-black Adidas training jerseys.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: Future Team India Star in making

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s inclusion in the Test team has proven to be a successful wager thus far. He played in the two-day practise game and made a superb 54 off 76 balls. He has now successfully nailed the opening position.

Rahul Dravid was impressed by Jaiswal’s abilities throughout both the practise game and net sessions. At practise, Dravid was closely observing Jaiswal when the head coach of Team India was heard remarking, “Good leave” as the opener was facing Jaydev Unadkat. Jaiswal did not take an aggressive stance when letting the outswinger go.

Jaiswal would be initially cautious of such swinging deliveries because Dukes is expected to be the ball India plays with again. Although the ground at Windsor Park is probably going to be dry, the overhead conditions could cause the ball to swing a little bit more than usual.

Team India will have a new Test opener for at least the two-match series with Shubman Gill poised to fill Cheteshwar Pujara’s dropped No. 3 position. Jaiswal will play his first Test.

FULL IND vs WI Test Series SCHEDULE:

12-16 July: 1st Test Match, Windsor Park, Dominica

20-24 July: 2nd Test Match, Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad
