Rishabh Pant visits Indian Cricket Team at NCA before Men in Blue depart for Asia Cup 2023 campaign

Rishabh Pant paid a visit to the Indian Cricket Team before the Rohit Sharma-led squad flies off to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023. The Indian team is currently at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) undergoing a preparatory camp for the Asia Cup. Rishabh Pan who also is undergoing his recovery paid a visit to his teammates.

It was a happy meeting for Rishabh Pant with his fellow teammates of the Indian Cricket Team. While the young wicketkeeper continues to recover from the horrific accident that he suffered last year, Pant is still quite a few months away from attaining full match fitness. Rishabh Pant will miss the World Cup 2023 and is likely to return to action next year.

For the Men in Blue, Rohit Sharma and his squad continue working on their preparation for Asia Cup 2023. The squad is at NCA, working on training sessions, match similations and other fitness tests. The squad will fly off to Sri Lanka on 29th September for the upcoming tournament. India faces Pakistan in their opening game on 2nd September.

Rishabh Pant who is continuing his rehab in Bengaluru had a reunion with his teammates. The 25-year-old destructive batter and wicketkeeper was spotted visiting his teammates and having a chat with head coach Rahul Dravid. While it has been his absence that has led India to face a massive conundrum in terms of wicketkeepeing.

KL Rahul who is retuning from a hamstring injury will be missing India’s opening clash against Pakistan. On his absence Ishan Kishan will keep wickets for the Men in Blue. It is expected that Rahul will be back in action from the Nepal game. On the other hand, as India faces a dirth of keepers, Sanju Samson has been added to the India Squad for Asia Cup as a travelling reserve.
