At first, Marcus Stoinis was sold out in the middle with the Australian all-rounder smashing 40 off 27 balls. The next in line was all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham as the duo in the middle got involved in a horrific run out. The third on the list was out of form Deepak Hooda who managed to get just 15 off 13 balls before skipper Sharma and Madhwal got involved in a crucial fielding effort and sent Hooda packing.
In the end, LSG managed to cross the 100-run mar before being bowled out at 101 in just 16.3 overs. For LSG, Stoinis was the highest run-scorer. For MI, Akash Madhwal scalped a five-wicket in just 3.3 overs as he gave only 5 runs. Chris Jordan and Piyush Chawla also scalped one wicket each for MI as the five-time champions thumped LSG by 81 runs.
