The dream team of John Cena and Seth Rollins wrestled a flawless battle and defeated The Imperium’s Lugwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci in a tag-team main event as WWE finally made its return to India after a six-year absence.
When Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal unexpectedly entered the ring, what had initially appeared to be a routine tag team battle quickly turned into a heated 6-man brawl. Matt Riddle’s participation brought a tiny twist to the proceedings amid some intriguing drama. After a tense struggle, the team of McIntyre, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn prevailed over the combined powers of Indus Sher and Mahal.

John Cena in Hyderabad addressing Indian fans after winning Superstar Spectacle
GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad played host to WWE Superstar Spectacle 2023. The live event is not being televised in the United States.
The World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and John Cena’s winning combination made them the main attraction of the WWE Superstar Spectacle in India.
When it came to how eagerly he was anticipating the opportunity to compete in India, John Cena made no secret of it. Despite the fact that his stay in India was ultimately brief, it was not surprising that he garnered the largest response of the evening because Cena has a sizable fan base there.
After pinning Giovanni Vinci, once known as the WWE’s strongest man pound-for-pound, with a Stomp and an Attitude Adjustment, John Cena gave a moving promo to the crowd before the show’s conclusion:
“I just wanted everybody to be able to hear what I’m saying. It’s brief, but what I have to say tonight means a heck of a lot to me. Thank you for allowing me to be here tonight. You know, sometimes we feel something inside grabs us emotionally. I want to share this with you all, you can let me know if I’m alone or not but I’m going to share it anyway. I’ve been imagining this moment right here for 20 years. I wanted to end tonight by saying this moment was far greater than I could ever have imagined.”
After this compelling first match, the focus of the evening moved to a pretty underwhelming match between Natalya and Zoey Stark. Notably, Stark had intervened to take Rhea Ripley’s spot in the arranged match. Before the interval, Gunther defeated Shanky in the third bout of the night to extend his record as the longest-reigning Intercontinental champion. After the interval, Natalya competed in her second match, however this time she fell short in a title match to the RAW Women’s Champion.
