Indian veteran cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma got involved in an animated chat during the IND vs NZ World Cup clash in Dharmshala on Sunday. After failing to break the attacking partnership of Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell, the duo discussed about the field placements to get the breakthrough which led to the chat.
The incident happened after the end of the 31st over. With New Zealand comfortably sitting on 160/2, Virat Kohli then came to talk to skipper Rohit and gave him some suggestions.
However, Rohit probably had different views and didn’t loo satisfied with Virat’s opinion. Both had a brief chat, with Kohli trying to convince Rohit to position the fielders according to him.
The discussion eventually worked as Mohammed Shami managed to get the big wicket of Rachin Ravindra in 34th over to give India the breakthrough.
Team India had a poor outing on the field as they dropped 3 catches which led to New Zealand’s resurgence despite losing two quick wickets. The Indian bowlers started superbly and scalped wickets of the New Zealand openers. However, Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell steadied the ship and pushed India on the backfoot.
The dropped catches didn’t help either. as both batters made the most of the missed chances.
