Sri Lanka’s nemesis has struck again. In a repeat of the Asia Cup 2023 Final, Mohammed Siraj has yet again broken Sri Lanka’s back. The Indian pacer has scalped 3 wickets in 7 deliveries to deal a striking blow to the Lankan side. Jasprit Bumrah struck on his first ball in the first over, and Siraj replicated the same on his first over.
Siraj got a maiden over on his first over where he scalped 2 wickets to demolish Sri Lanka’s top order. Siraj’s first victim was Dimuth Karunaratne who then dismissed Sadeera Samarawickrama. On his second over, he yet again dismissed Kusal Mendis on the first ball to scalp his third wicket.

1.1 – OUT – Mohammed Siraj strikes on his first ball of his first over and Sri Lanka are in big trouble after losing their second over. A perfect delivery and Siraj gets an LBW. A full-length delivery and the ball nicks back into Dimuth Karunaratne. The batter flicks to drive the ball and misses and the ball hits the pads. Karunaratne departs for a golden duck.
1.5 – OUT – Siraj gets his second wicket in the same over. Sadeera Samarawickrama is the next batter to depart. A fine catch by Shreyas Iyer at third slip and Sri Lanka loses their 3rd wicket in a high-scoring run chase. Short of a length ball pitched outside off and Sadeera nicks the ball. The ball flies to Iyer after taking a big outside edge.
3.1 – OUT– Siraj gets his third, Sri Lanka loses their 4th wicket and the Indian pacer brings out Cristiano Ronaldo’s SIUUUU celebration. A class delivery and Siraj bowls Kusal Mendis. A back-of-a-length ball and the ball cuts inside to knock the off-stump.
