The right-handed batter had made his debut in the longest format way back in 2011 against West Indies and 11 years later, he has come a long way.

He had last scored a century in international cricket in 2019 against Bangladesh and since then, the entire nation is waiting eagerly for the batter to register his 71st ton.
One can just hope he registers the milestone in his 100th Test and if it does happen, it would mean that the stars truly aligned for a once-in-a-generation batter.

Head coach Dravid was effusive in praise of Kohli getting to the 100th Test and said it was well deserved. “It’s well deserved, well earned, and hopefully it is just the start of many things to come. As we say in the dressing room, double it up,” said Dravid.
Expressing happiness over this achievement, Kohli said, “It is a special moment for me. My wife is here and so is my brother. Everyone is very proud. It is indeed a team game and it couldn’t have been possible without you. Thanks to the BCCI as well. In present-day cricket, with the amount we play with three formats and an IPL, the one takeaway the next generation can take from me is that I played 100 games in the purest format.
