Speaking to Indian Express, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri said that BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has to present his version of events and clear the air between him and India’s now Test captain Virat Kohli. Ganguly had previously claimed that he had asked Virat not to quit T20I captaincy and was informed of the decision to sack him as ODI skipper. However, Kohli contradicted those claims earlier this month, saying that he was only informed of the decision 1.5 hours before the selection meeting.
Ravi Shastri told Indian Express, “With good communication, this can be handled better. With good communication, this can be handled better.” However, the former Indian all-rounder agrees with BCCI’s idea of having just a solitary white-ball captain and believes Kohli’s resignation as T20I skipper set the tone for that.

  • December 17: Two days after Kohli’s press conference, Ganguly refused to comment on the matter, saying BCCI will deal with it internally.
