WTC Final 2023, IND vs AUS: Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has suffered an injury scare ahead of India vs Australia World Test Championship Final 2023. The Royal Challengers Bangalore head coach Sanjay Bangar confirmed the same after the team’s exit from the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) on Sunday.
RCB were eliminated from the IPL 2023 after losing to Gujarat Titans on Sunday, May 21. Virat Kohli’s incredible innings of 101* which enabled RCB to score of 197, was in vain as Shubman Gill eclipsed him with an outstanding century in the chase. The supporters were more alarmed by Kohli’s decision to sit in the dugout for the final five overs of the game than by RCB’s defeat.
In a fortnight, India will play Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final, so Virat Kohli’s injury has caused quite a stir. Since the 15th over in the 2nd innings, he was seen sitting hopelessly on the bench as he watched his team lose the game.

The former RCB captain sustained a knee injury while taking a catch to bring down Vijay Shankar in the 15th over of Vijaykumar Vyshak’s bowling.
He received quick medical attention, but Kohli left the pitch and did not return. The injury is not significant, according to an update provided by RCB head coach Sanjay Bangar at the post-game press conference.
“Yeah, he had a bit of a niggle in his knee. But I don’t think there is anything serious. Having score two back-to-back hundreds within a gap of 4 days. He is somebody who not only wants to contribute with the bat but even when he is fielding. He did a lot of running around. 40 overs a couple of days ago and today, for 35 overs he was on the field. He was giving his best. So it is going to bother at some point but I don’t think its anything serious,” Bangar said.
Virat Kohli is probably going to be among the first group of players to fly to England for the WTC Final given that RCB has been eliminated from the IPL 2023.
