He confirmed the development via tweet post. “I’ve decided to step down as the T20 captain after this T20 World Cup in Dubai in October. I have spoken to head coach Ravi Shastri, BCCI secretary Jay Shah and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.

Virat Kohli Resigns: Reason, clearly is that Kohli wants to focus more on his batting. Captaincy in all 3 formats is getting too much to handle for the champion Indian and is affecting his batting.
“Considering my immense workload over the last 8-9 years playing all 3 formats and captaining regularly for last 5-6 years, I feel I need to give myself space to be fully ready to lead the Indian Team in Test and ODI Cricket,” he wrote on Twitter.

T20 World Cup- Virat Kohli Quit T20 Captaincy: His record as captain in T20I cricket is even more outstanding. India has won 15 of the 19 matches under Rohit’s captaincy in the format. These include victories in the Nidahas tri-series in Sri Lanka in 2018 and a 3-0 series sweep against West Indies at home in 2018.
