Virat Kohli goes on record breaking spree with 76th International ton in IND vs WI 2nd Test

In his 500th international match, Virat Kohli slammed his 76th century, which also marked his 29th Test ton.

Senior batter Virat Kohli brought out his best against West Indies in the second Test encounter being played at the Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad. The right-handed batter went to smash his 76th international century. Apart from his hundred, Kohli broke a number of records during his marathon innings.

Most Runs in 500th International Match:

Virat Kohli — 121 in 2023 (Test)

Kumar Sangakkara — 48 in 2013 (ODI)

Ricky Ponting — 44 in 2010 (ODI)

MS Dhoni — 32* in 2018 (T20I)

In his 500th international match, Kohli slammed his 76th century, which also marked his 29th Test ton. With this magnificent feat, he equaled the legendary Sir Don Bradman’s record of scoring the most Test centuries. Apart from that, he now has most centuries against West Indies and most 100s after 500 international matches.

Apart from these records, Kohli also went on to become the fourth batter to have most international runs. He went past former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis who stroked a monumental 25,534 in 617 innings in his entire career.

The former Indian skipper also went past veteran Virender Sehwag for amassing most Test runs for India. Kohli’s innings ended on 121 runs as he got run-out. During his course of the innings, he stroked 11 boundaries complied with some excellent running between the wickets.
