Ishan has warmed the bench in both games while Virat has played for India in both of the series’ games thus far.
Ishan Kishan became the quickest and youngest batter to record a double century in ODIs in his last game for India against Bangladesh on December 10, 2022, but he was still left out of the starting XI, and in his place, Shubman Gill made a comeback to the team.
Shubman, though, lived up to the hype and hit 21 off 12 balls in the second game after scoring 70 runs from 60 balls in the series opener.
In the second ODI, KL Rahul delivered when it counted, smashing his 12th ODI fifty to lead India to a tense victory. Rahul stepped up to save India from a precarious situation.
