1. Roman Reigns Road to WrestleMania 31
The 2015 Royal Rumble is one of the worst Royal Rumble matches in WWE history. Vince McMahon pitched Roman Reigns to win the 2015 Royal Rumble who later main evented WrestleMania 31 against Brock Lesnar. However, WWE fans were against this idea as they didn’t recognize Reigns as a power star.
Roman Reigns and The RockDuring the 2015 Royal Rumble, WWE fans expected a big push for Daniel Bryan but instead, he was eliminated early in the match. This enraged the fans who saw a terrific Rumble match eventually won by Roman Reigns. Although WWE brought The Rock to boost the former Sheild member’s victory, Mr. McMahon failed to engage the audience.
The fan backlash continued till WrestleMania 31 the former CEO took a major decision in the final moments. Eventually, he added Seth Rollins into the match cashing in the MITB briefcase. This completely changed fan reaction supporting Seth Rollins who made one of the iconic MITB cash-ins named “Heist of the Century” winning the WWE Title.
2. Batista wins the 2014 Royal Rumble
Batista was one of the top stars in the Ruthless Aggression Era. Unfortunately, he lost the star power when he returned to WWE in 2014. Meanwhile, another superstar rose to new heights named Daniel Bryan. Despite huge fan support, Vince McMahon didn’t recognize him as a main-event superstar which resulted in Batista’s downfall.

Although Batista won the 2014 Royal Rumble after eliminating Roman Reigns, fans had mixed reactions to his victory. Eventually, WWE had to add Daniel Bryan to the main event of WrestleMania 30 to win back the WWE fans.
3. Retribution’s short run
During the pandemic era, WWE introduced Thunderdome to engage WWE fans with live action. In the meantime, WWE introduced Retribution a violent stable that was seeking opportunities and was trying to establish its dominance. However, Vince McMahon’s plan completely failed as fans didn’t like the idea of Retribution after failing to win matches and losing member day by day.

At first, Retribution showcased 10 to 12 superstars but it was cut down to 5 stars featuring Mustafa Ali as its leader. WWE tried to push the stable more for weeks but they eventually lost interest in bringing the stable to the top. This faction was later disbanded and known as one fo the worst factions in WWE history.
It was quite clear Vince McMahon was failing to bring new factions and lost the creative pitch until he made some good decisions for WWE fans.
