There were massive speculations going on regarding Jon Jones’ UFC future and potential heavyweight move. Several people even predicted that we will never see ‘Bones’ in a UFC fight ever again. However, it seems that Jon Jones isn’t done fighting and has sighted UFC heavyweight championship as his next achievement.
Although the heavyweight category is full of A-listed opponents, with Ciryl Gane being one of them, Jones’ entry will clearly be alarming for every other contender available.
Jon Jones hasn’t fought for over two years
Jon Jones appeared last in February 2020 when he took on Dominick Reyes. ‘Bones’ didn’t look as dominant as he was supposed to and many fans considered it to be a fight that should have gone in Reyes’ favor. Following the outcome, Jon Jones exited the light heavyweight category.

Despite several statements and announcements, he hasn’t made his debut in the heavyweight category yet. From Stipe Miocic to Francis Ngannou, several potential opponents were pitched to bring back Jones. Amidst so many names, Ciryl Gane seems to have made his way to facing the light heavyweight legend as a heavyweight.
