The 2023 F1 British GP weekend is underway and fans with almost half a million people attending the event across three days. The highly prolific race at Silverstone is one of the most anticipated F1 events across the calendar. With a rich history and enriching style, this circuit is a dream one to attain a win for every driver. Apart from home boys Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, and George Russell, the Red Bull duo will be aiming for a spectacular outing here at Silverstone.
This circuit brings back memories that date back more than five decades. The first GP at Silverstone took place in 1987. It is one of the only four circuits to have held more than 50 F1 races. The other three are Monza, Monte Carlo, and Spa-Franchorchamps in order of precedence. Moreover, the most successful driver at this circuit is non other than Lewis Hamilton with 8 wins to his name so far.
With that, even Hamilton is chasing two records in the upcoming GP. A win at Silverstone will make him the only driver to win 9 races at any circuit. Additionally, he is merely 23 laps behind Jim Clark to clock the highest number of laps led in the British GP. Not just him, McLaren driver Lando Norris also said that achieving a podium here would be a dream second to none for him this season.

Max Verstappen and Red Bull closing up on another record at the British GP
No matter how badly all the drivers want to reach that top step, one man standing in everyone’s way is Max Verstappen. Sergio Perez last bested him at this season’s Azerbaijan GP and it has been a one-way business ever since. Recently he even came close to being the driver to have led the most number of laps consecutively. The record is currently held by Alberto Ascari.
However, he will be eyeing another record at this British GP. Another win here will tie Red Bull with McLaren on the most consecutive wins by any team, 11. Verstappen currently leads the championship with a mammoth 81-point lead over teammate Sergio Perez. With eight wins already this season, he is surely eyeing many more records in times to come.
