US Open Highlights: India’s Rohan Bopanna has become the oldest man in the Open era to reach the US Open final. The Indian along with Australia’s Matthew Ebden defeated French pair Nicholas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert 7-6, 6-2 in the semifinal on Thursday, 7th Spetember 2023.

Agef 43 years and 6 months, Bopanna surpassed the previous record held by Canada’s Daniel Nestor. He was 43 years and 4 months old when he played in a Major final. The victory marks the second time that Bopanna has reached a Grand Slam men’s doubles final. His last appearance also came in the US Open 13 years back. In 2010 he finished as runner-up in Men’s Doubles playing alongside Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, also at the US Open.
Bopanna and Ebden will face the winner between American pair of Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury against the Croatian-American duo of Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek, in the title clash.
