UPW vs DC Highlights- Delhi Capitals reached the final of the inaugural season of WPL after defeating UP Warriorz by 5 wickets and topping the points table. UP Warriorz posted a total of 138 runs in their allotted 20 overs thanks to some decent knocks from Tahlia Mcgrath and Alyssa Healy. After being put to bat, UP Warriorz started brilliantly as the openers stitched on a 30-run partnership. Later, Tahlia McGrath scored a brilliant unbeaten 58 to push Warriorz to 138 in 20 overs. While McGrath scored a brisk pace, regular wickets from the other end dented UP’s chances of putting on a big score. For DC, Alice Capsey was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets. Meanwhile, Radha Yadav and Jess Jonassen picked up 2 and 1 wicket, respectively.
DC Women needed to chase down the target by 19.4 overs to topple MI Women from the top and openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning provided just the start they needed. The DC openers put on a brilliant 55-run partnership to set the foundation for the middle order. Later, Marizanne Kapp (34*) and Alice Capsey (34) made sure DC Women get to the target in quick time to reach the finals.
DC Women will now face the winner of MI Women vs UP Warriorz match in the final on Sunday (March 26) at Brabourne Stadium.
