The Delhi Capitals will be without Rishabh Pant in Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). But young Bengal keeper Abhishek Porel isn’t too worried. The young player believes that his side won’t be affected much after the loss of the star keeper-batter. In the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, Pant was sold to LSG for a whopping sum of 27 crores.
Rishabh Pant had a fall-out with Delhi Capitals heading into IPL 2025. The star player was not even retained by the side and thus was up in the mega auction. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) went on to spend 27 crores to rope in the superstar. Pant thus became the highest priced cricketer in the history of the league.
Abhishek Porel ready for IPL 2025
Delhi did come back with Right To Match (RTM) but LSG’s high price couldn’t be matched by Capitals. Now coming to DC, Abhishek Porel isn’t too worried.
”Yeah, he is a big cricketer. We tried to get him during the auction, but things didn’t pan out. Hopefully, we won’t be missing him much this time around as we’ve assembled a good team. We will be seeing him as an opponent”, Porel told OneIndia.
After Rishabh Pant‘s massive injury, Abhishek Porel took on the major role of standing behind the stumps. However, last season when Pant returned, the captain donned the keeper’s duties. But now in IPL 2025, with DC failing to purchase KL Rahul, they are left with the only option of Porel, who will be ready to fight for his team.
