Ukraine-Russia Conflict: The recent actions of Russia in their invasion against Ukraine has forced the Spanish top tier league, La Liga and La Liga 2 to raise their voice against peace. The banner will be displayed in every fixture from Matchday 26 in LaLiga Santander and Matchday 29 in LaLiga SmartBank, on both the Spanish and international broadcasts, which can be seen in more than 185 countries. Both the top and second division teams will fiercely voice their protest against Vladimir Putin and his Russia. A banner with the statement ‘NO A LA GUERRA’ (No to war) will be displayed in all LaLiga matches.

This initiative will be complemented by information that will appear on U Televisiva (advertising boards) during LaLiga matches and by a message that will be released through LaLiga’s social media accounts. With this campaign, LaLiga wants to express its rejection of any armed conflict and its support for peace, as well as its support for dialogue and harmony.
These actions once again prove that there is no space for hatred among countries in this day and age and things should be sorted out peacefully without shedding the blood of innocent lives.
“With this campaign, La Liga wants to express its rejection of any armed conflict and its support for peace, as well as its support for dialogue and harmony,” a La Liga statement said.
Russia’s actions have been criticised by many sports personalities. The world saw how Russian tennis star Andrey Rublev voiced his support for Ukrainian people with a ‘No War Please’ message on his camera sign out after winning the semifinals against Hubert Hurkacz at the Dubai Tennis Championship. THE UEFA have shifted the Champions League finals from St. Petersburg to Paris amidst Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Poland, Sweden and other nations who are in the World Cup qualifying playoffs have refused to play matches against Russia in protest of their actions. Polish star Robert Lewandowski has also voiced his opinion against Russia.
There are innumerable people opposing Russia’s aggression against Ukraine as it has massive consequences, some of which the world ain’t ready to face.
