Watch: Mark Zuckerberg Continues MMA Training Despite No Fight With Elon Musk

Zuckerberg enlisted the aid of UFC fighters Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski to help him get ready for Musk, who started working with MMA veteran Georges St-Pierre.

Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Tesla, may no longer be the subject of talk about the social media billionaire’s fights, but his passion for the game remains unwavering.

After a training session went too far, Zuckerberg posted a photo on Instagram on Monday that showed him with two black eyes and looking worse for wear.

“Sparring got a little out of hand. May need to update my avatar,” He wrote the caption for the post, which received over 500,000 likes very quickly on the social media platform he runs.

During the COVID-19 lockout, the 39-year-old made his first foray into MMA.

Before putting his newly acquired talents to the test at a Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournament in California early this year, Zuckerberg quickly started training in a variety of martial arts.

Surprisingly, he won two medals in his debut tournament.

Soon after, Musk challenged him to an MMA match, and the two of them got to talking about what, in the opinion of UFC CEO Dana White, would have been history’s biggest sporting event.

Insidesport

Zuckerberg enlisted the aid of UFC fighters Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski to help him get ready for Musk, who started working with MMA veteran Georges St-Pierre.

The CEO of Meta even constructed an Octagon in his backyard, much to the displeasure of his wife Priscilla Chan, who demonstrated that she does not share his passion for fighting by accompanying him to a private UFC event.

Ultimately, Musk’s allegation that he needed surgery before fighting prevented Zuckerberg from making his MMA debut in August.

Based on the intensity of his most recent sparring session, Zuckerberg may fight in MMA sooner rather than later. Zuckerberg is still aiming to compete.
