Which UFC Fighters Will Compete This Weekend?
Font steps in for Umar Nurmagomedov, who was forced to withdraw from his first promotional headliner due to a shoulder injury. Prior to switching, the Massachusetts native was slated to compete against Song Yadong for the promotion’s return to Boston at UFC 292. According to sources, Yadong was forced to leave the battle on August 19 for an unidentified reason.
Font (20-6 MMA, 10-5 UFC) wants to make his current winning streak into a two-game run. At UFC 287, Font knocked out Adrian Yanez. The victory put a stop to a losing string of two matches, which also includes defeats to Jose Aldo and Marlon Vera.
Sandhagen (16-4 MMA, 9-3 UFC) has won back-to-back fights following two unsuccessful title defences in a row. Since being defeated by T.J. Dillashaw and Petr Yan in the championship fights, Sandhagen has defeated Yadong and Marlon Vera.
