UFC Paris Knockouts: Cyril Gane and others

Ciryl Gane’s victory was undeniably dominant, especially considering his prior loss to Jon Jones at UFC 285. Despite that setback, he maintained a strong fan following, and his performance in this fight perfectly illustrated why. Gane achieved the second-largest strike differential in UFC heavyweight history, landing an impressive 109 strikes compared to Sergey Spivak’s 11.

After a commanding first round, Gane entered the second round with a sole objective: securing a decisive victory. In that second round, he accomplished just that via TKO. Gane relentlessly delivered hammer fists while Spivak covered up, leading the referee, Goddard, to intervene and declare a standing TKO victory for Gane. It was a remarkable performance that gave him his 6th TKO/KO win.

Benoit Saint-Denis delivered a crushing TKO in the second round against Thiago Moises after an intense and thrilling fight. This marked his fourth consecutive finish, following victories over Ismael Bonfim, Gabriel Miranda, and Niklas Stolze. In the lightweight showdown, Saint-Denis engaged in a fierce exchange of punches with Moises, causing significant damage to the Brazilian before overwhelming him with a flurry of strikes, ultimately securing the TKO victory.

The most talked KO’s of the night

The biggest buzz tonight came from William Gomis securing a UFC knockout victory in a featherweight showdown against fellow French fighter Yanis Ghemmouri at UFC Paris. The fight ended in controversy as Gomis’ kick, seemingly to the stomach, led to a confusing stoppage by referee Loic Para, awarding Gomis the win.

Morgan Charriere’s UFC debut exceeded all expectations. He left a lasting impression by securing a TKO victory in the first round with a double-body kick to Manolo Zecchini. In the latter part of the round, Charriere targeted Zecchini’s liver, causing him to crumple, and he followed up with another strike before the referee stepped in. It was a remarkable start to his UFC journey.

In the initial card, there weren’t any TKO or KO wins, but things heated up in the main card with a total of four fights ending in such dramatic fashion. The standout performance of the night went to the debutant, stealing the spotlight from the main card clash. Now that the event has ended, UFC fans are eagerly looking forward to the next big event: Israel Adesanya versus Sean Strickland. It’s a matchup that’s sure to set the Octagon on fire!
