UFC on ESPN: ‘$1000 – Month’, Watching UFC gets EXPENSIVE, Disney raises ESPN+ Price by 43%
Disney ESPN rising its price- Disney is raising the cost of its sports streaming service ESPN+ by 43 percent, to $9.99 per month.
The prior monthly cost of ESPN+ was $6.99. On August 23, the hike will take effect. The cost of an ESPN+ annual subscription will increase from $69.99 to $99.99. It’s unusual for the cost of a streaming service to climb by more than 40% all at once. In July of last year and in 2020, Disney increased the cost of ESPN+ by just $1 a month. The sudden rate increase helps Disney achieve a number of objectives. Disney’s streaming goods, which the business still loses money on, should see an increase in income if users continue to use the service.
Second, Disney hopes that by doing this, subscribers will be reminded that the service has a tonne of fresh and worthwhile content, such as live National Football League games, exclusive Grand Slam tennis matches from Wimbledon and the Australian Open, PGA Tour events, and National Hockey League games. Disney’s most recent renewal of “Monday Night Football,” which cost the firm $2.6 billion annually, will likewise be paid for in part by raising the price of ESPN+. As part of the agreement, Disney has the right to periodically stream “Monday Night Football” on ESPN+.
Third, and possibly most significantly for the business’s long-term plan, Disney isn’t altering the cost of its bundle; it will continue to be $13.99 per month. It comprises of ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu with advertising.
