Shevchenko started the fight strong with a body kick and a 1-2 combo. Grasso initially fought conventionally and did well while she was in the orthodox stance. However, when Grasso switched to a southpaw stance, Shevchenko had some difficulty. In the second round, Grasso continued in the southpaw stance and landed a significant knockdown, showing more dominance compared to the first round.

Grasso switched back to orthodox at the beginning of the third round. Shevchenko utilized kicks to keep her at bay. In the third round, there was a remarkable moment when Shevchenko executed a smooth transition into a mounted guillotine during a scramble, maintaining dominant ground position for the rest of the round. Shevchenko focused on her jab in the fourth round, but Grasso impressed with a powerful knee barrage, earning her that round.
