The three rounds favored in Khamzat Chimaev side unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. However, the Brazilian fighter is eager for his rematch with Khamzat Chimaev.

Insidesport

During his recent interview with MMA Fighting, the Brazilian fighter talked about his recent match and said that it should have been a five-round match. Later, he stated he is waiting for his rematch with Khamzat Chimaev and would insist on being a 5 round match.

Burns said, “I requested it and I requested it a couple of times, Ali [did], too. I don’t know if because of the two title fights maybe, I don’t know. I didn’t get an answer. The way I see it, we’ve got to do it again. It’s got to be five rounds next. A lot of respect to Khamzat.”

“Once again, I don’t want to take nothing away from this guy. I have no excuse. I went into a battle. I leave my heart in there. The guy hurt me a couple of times, I kept moving forward. I keep trying to fight. I like him”

“Every time we go to these fights, we leave a piece of ourselves in there but I knew that going into this fight, this guy would be very, very tough. Not the monster — no way that guy would have an easy fight and finish me in the first round — but he ended up getting the win so I have to give a lot of respect to this guy.” [H/T Daily Mail]

Eventually, the 35-year-old admitted that he re-watched his match and he needs to improve on his weak points. He also mentioned that the fight was close, and he lacked certain training and should have delivered more calf kicks to keep the fight on.
