Maycee Barber won for the fourth time in a row on Saturday, not just Kendra Lust a lot of the Texas crowd wasn’t satisfied with the results because of the scores on two judges’ cards.

At UFC San Antonio, Barber competed against Andrea Lee in a flyweight main event. Following 15 minutes of intense competition, a split decision was reached in favour of “The Future.”

It was judged 29-28 by judge Chris Lee in favour of Lee, 29-28 by referee Frank Collazo in a highly contentious bout on Friday’s Fury FC 79 card, and 3-0 by judge Dan Miragliotta in favour of Barber.

Less than two minutes into the first round, Lee secured an easy takedown and dominated position for over two minutes, barring an uncomfortable arm trap from Barber. The 24-year-old eventually got back to her feet, where the exchanges remained very level until the horn sounded.

Initially, Lee was winning the exchanges on the feet in the second round. But, Barber scored a takedown to shift the tide, and she followed up by landing a good elbow in tight on Lee when she got back to her feet. At the same time, both ladies connected with head kicks, Lee’s being the more powerful. Nevertheless, Barber then landed a blow that seriously injured Lee. Again, “KGB” easily secured a takedown but was unable to do any damage with it. As the round concluded, Lee got back up and unleashed a series of leg kicks on a prone Barber, who countered with beautiful up kicks.

During the third round, Barber advanced but was taken down by Lee, who eventually took Barber’s back. Barber didn’t stay down for long, though; she was soon standing again. Close exchanges continued on the feet, but Barber eventually secured a takedown and brought Lee crashing back to the mat.

Lee accomplished her fifth takedown in as many attempts with under a minute remaining to win the round.

The cards were scattered, as predicted, and Barber won her fourth consecutive decision.

Lee has now lost two in a row and is 2-5 in her last seven matches.
