UFC still paying the fighters less despite a huge jump in annual revenue collection
Recently, Bloody Elbow reported UFCs annual revenue collection for the year 2022. According to the report, the UFC has earned a huge amount of revenue in the last year, adding its total revenue for the year 2022 up to $1.140 billion. This is the highest revenue generated ever in a year. This big number has put the fans in question once again as the company continues to pay its fighter less. Also, earlier this year Endeavor merged WWE and UFC which created a lot of buzz and rise in stock price for the company.
As per the UFC, a UFC fighter has a base salary between $10,000 to $30,000. This salary continues to grow as the top tier fighters continue to advance to the next level in their weight division. Apart from that, the UFC also gives fight bonuses to the fighters. However, this fight bonuses are not much greater for a normal fighter. A top tier UFC fighter can earn between $500,000 to $3 million or more.
In recent years, many fighters left the company and joined rival MMA promotions which offer a better deal. Former UFC fighters who transitioned to other promotions have claimed earning a better fight purse than UFC. Earlier this year, former UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou left the company after failing to sign a suitable deal with the UFC.
